| It was on the night of September 8, 1880 in the old arcadia building located on north Spring Street, forty prominent Angelinos; sons of pioneers, adventurers and athletes gathered in Frank Gibson's law office to create an American Style Club. The Los Angeles Athletic Club was born. During the late 1800's The Club became a haven for up and coming members of the Los Angeles community.
